Agrivoltaic systems are now a highly regarded concept for the dual utilisation of land for food and energy production. In recent years, a research area has also been established in Hohenheim that is intensively involved with issues relating to this system concept. But what does the concept actually mean? We want to discuss this as part of a series of lectures and present various aspects of agrivoltaic systems using specialist lectures and practical reports. Researchers from the University of Hohenheim as well as national and international experts will report on their work. The first three dates in December (3.12.25; 10.12.25; 17.12.25) will focus on practical aspects of planning and management. The lectures will be held in German. The events in January (7.1.26; 14.1.26; 21.1.26; 28.1.26) will present new aspects of science. The lectures will be held in English:
- 03.12.2025 Gawan Heintze & Daniel Eisel, Technologie- und Förderzentrum (TFZ) // Aspekte der Planung und Umsetzung
- 10.12.2025 Paula Friedrich, Hochschule Kehl // Rechtliche Rahmenbedingungen
- 17.12.2025 Martin Gut-Müller // Praxisbericht Ackerbau (Donaueschingen-Aasen)
- 07.01.2026 Arndt Feuerbacher, University of Hohenheim // Economic aspects across farming contexts
- 14.01.2026 Stefano Amaducci, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore // System integration and productivity optimization
- 21.01.2026 Jennifer Moore, University of Hohenheim // Crop adaptation
- 28.01.2026 Greg Barron-Gafford & Christine Lamanna, University of Arizona // Crop physiology and smallholder farming
The lectures will take place from 4 to 6 pm. Location: Hohenheim Schloss, HS 1, no participation fee. The lectures will also be broadcast online. You will receive access after general registration.
